I am not new in the lollipop world, and I have had saf-t-pops before and they're great for kids. But the reason for this post is not about the tasty, safe, lollipop that we all love. It's about the plastic wrapper they come in.
We recently bought a bag of saf-t-pops and
found that every single wrapper was so
annoyingly stuck to the candy. In an attempt
to remove the wrapper, it would invariably rip
into tiny, almost invisible pieces that had to
be removed, one by one, before consuming
the candy. I contacted the company and the
graciously responded within hours. They told
me that the candy was not stored properly in
the store or the warehouse. I was then
offered a free replacement to restore my faith
in the company. Well, let me tell you, Saf-t-pop
sent me a two pound bag full of saf-t-pops!!
And, Thank you Saf-t-pop!!! You have absolutely restored my faith in
your company and your product!! The flavors are so great!!!

website and everything they offer.

What to Tell Your Children About the News

I found this quote recently and thought it was great. I still don't let my children watch the news. But, when the time comes, I'll definitely take this sound advice;

"When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, 'Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping." — Mister Rogers

It sort of softens the blow a little and also shows how, even though someone did something bad, there are people doing something good to help.

Do you let your children watch the news? At what age do you feel is an appropriate age for children to watch the news?

I Almost Used my Drill in the Kitchen!

That initial mix of the almond butter to get the oil reincorporated is death. It takes forever and it never really gets fully mixed. I usually use a butter knife because it is less likely to bend compared to other utensils. But it's exhausting to say the least.
I thought that the paint mixer I use with my drill would be perfect for the job. But that's not made for food. Then, after a few crazy thoughts I realized that dough hooks would be perfect!  And, I don't need to hook it up to the drill! I just used the hand held mixer and it worked like a champ! Perfect tool for the job!!!

What do you think about SocialScout ?

How do you fell about snooping on your kids?

SocialScout is an online Parental Intelligence System that helps you monitor and quickly analyze your child's social networking and mobile phone activity while safeguarding their privacy and reputation on sites such as Facebook, MySpace and Twitter. SocialScout provides daily activity reports online and by email and allows you to react to the information that is important to you.

Many parents befriend their children on various social network sites in an effort to keep track of their child's online activities. SocialScout makes it easy for you to know whether your child is making good online and mobile choices by bridging the technology gap between parent and child, while eliminating hours of time searching your child's web history, social media sites, and phone records.

Potty Seat hook

I know they sell these, but I already had an "over the door" hook that
I wasn't using. It fit perfectly on the toilet bowl tank and didn't
cost me any extra $ !!
Now the potty seat is off the floor when it's not being used!

Mr. Apple, you're a Star!

Every time I share an apple with the boys we talk about how many seeds there might be in there. When there is nothing else to slice off, I get the official guesses. Then I slice the apple core in half and show then the star and pick out the seeds. We count them together. Sometimes there is one or two, other times there are ten or more! It's fun guessing, and they like it. I like the estimating and counting that goes into it. It's like a math snack!
